Meet the Staff
All of our staff are qualified early years practitioners. Two of them have the new post-graduate Early Years Professional Status.
Staff are able to access training provided by our local authority and colleges and universities.
We actively promote continuous training. Good for the children in our care and good for the professional development of staff.
Josephine has an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education.
Neolla has an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education. She has recently completed the post-graduate qualification of Early years Professional Status. Neolla comes from a Black Caribbean background.
Neolla likes the fact that the staff team at KGUFG work to the best of their professional ability, ensuring that each individual child in their care achieves their full potential. She also likes the fact that the team has built good working relationships with parents and the local community.
One of her interests is working with children with Special Educational Needs;children and language development and social interaction issues. She finds this aspect of her work very rewarding.
Paula has an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education and she has a Caribbean background (St Lucia). She is also responsible for Special Needs and Equal Ops in the nursery.
Paulette has an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education. Paulette has an English/Caribbean background.
What she likes about working at Kensal Green Under Fives is the strong sense of community. She likes the fact that staff, parents and children live locally and this contributes to the strong community feeling of the nursery. She also likes that the staff work as a team, which means morale is high, and all the staff are working to achieve the same goal, i.e. a happy, stimulating environment for all.
One of her interests is encouraging children to value and take an interest in books. She likes the shared experience of asking questions and books provide an opportunity for this.
Sandy has an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education.Sandy comes from a Portuguese background. Sandy likes the 'I Can' programme which supports children in the development of their communication skills. She will be coordinating the portfolio that is required for the 'I Can' accreditation that the nursery will be undertaking.
Sandy likes the fact that the staff are all working towards achieving a stimulating, happy environment for all the children who attend the nursery. She also likes that the staff have close relationships with parents which means that fundraising events are always a success enabling the staff team to improve areas of the nursery.
Tracey has an NVQ Level 2 in Childcare and Education.
Margaret has an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education and has attained the post-graduate Early Years Professional Status. She comes from an Irish background, although she spent many years in Australia before moving to London.
She likes working at kensal Green because of the children, parents and the staff. There is a strong sense of community, inclusion and fairness. She likes the fact that decisions are made by the entire nursery community at meetings where everyone has a voice. She believes that the nursery has always promoted values of fairness.
Margaret is interested in educational theory and policy and comparative studies of early years provision (national and international). She is also intested in alternative ideas about education and community.
